  • High Court, claiming costs both as LIP and represented.

    Hi,

I have been representing myself for some time and have incurred serious amounts of time in my high court case, I believe at £18 per hour and including travel its about £18,000 so far.

I would like to finish the trial stage using a solicitor/barrister.

If I switch from been a LIP to been represented, assuming I win, can costs be claimed for both my own work and that from when the solicitor took over.

    Thanks
    Rob

Yes I would presume so, nothing stopping you from getting legal representation at any stage of the case.

Depending on the nature of the matter though you may find it hard work persuading them that you have reasonably spent >1000 hrs on it.
