Yes, I read both of those, but thought it was ambiguous - I thought in 1998 OP was dealing with the court system in order to prove/restore driving entitlement.

I said before why spent offences were still relevant in welfare proceedings, I have no idea what the reciprocal arrangements are, if any, for other countries.

I have tried to suggest, practically, what OP can do about it (post 12 and earlier) - that fact is that CAFCASS have become aware of an erroneous record and it needs to be corrected.

Hi all sorry should have explained that better the record had no impact on my family hearing as was deemed an unrelated matter but u was concerned this was showing up when banks and finance companies research someone after hearing that banks can use information held on a list provided by foreign agencies without verifying the authenticity and without disclosing this to me

I think this practice has only just come to public attention and was practiced when someone had spent a lengthy time abroad. My conviction can't have been any later than 2001 as after that I had my licence and had done my awareness course. The offence stated is Urkundenfälschung but this translates literally to fraud or document forging. And is a million miles from driving with no insurance but that's what they call it because they prese you are trying to pass the vehicle off as insured when it's not.

Wuzzy, is your principal concern your credit report or the access proceedings.

If the former, I suggest you get your credit reports from all three agencies and see what is showing.

There is also CIFAS which alerts providers to those who need special attention relating to fraud, but I think any markers for that show on your credit record.

Hi yes primary concern was that I had a record I knew nothing about and then seeing the word fraud I started to think this might have been the reason I have had such difficulty in obtaining normal financial services. As stated I have a average credit rating having checked all 3 popular agencies as I have wondered in the past why I can't even get a mobile phone contract but have never had an adverse credit history but to no avail it all looks normal on my credit files.

Wuzzy, am so sorry, you have exhausted my knowledge, I have suggested how you might get the record corrected, suggest you look at CIFAS and see what that has to say.
