Re: Previous Solicitor Not Responded For Access To File

    Hoping that you have

    -exhausted their official complaints procedure

    - if so, reported to the SRA

    - if so, and no satisfactory result, complained to LOS?

Re: Previous Solicitor Not Responded For Access To File

As far as I know there is no reason for the old solicitor to hang onto the file.

You have 6 years from the date of instruction, I instructed the old solicitor in July 2010, and have 6 years to bring in a claim against them.

I am wondering if they are not being cooperative for the file because there might be something in it which incriminates them!!

I have 12 grievances against the old solicitor, one being they failed to represent me in court properly, they also failed to notify the court of the trial being unfair due to the magistrate knowing the complainant, the old solicitor in 4 months of dealing with them failed to put in a paper defence bundle before gong to trial, other issues.

I had reported the old solicitiors for poor service to the Legal Ombudsman a few months ago.

The Legal Ombudsman sided with the old solicitior claiming they did nothing wrong, which in my opinion is a bloody joke considering I lost going to court on their advice.

The Legal Ombudsman failed to take into account that I was splahed all over the front page of the local newspaper, they failed to ask me for the name of my witness who sat at all advocacy meetings.

How they sided with the firm is a bloody disgrace!!

The barrister has said that there is a claim there but my new solicitors should send a further 4 reminder letters.

I have also reported the old solicitor to the SRA; this complaint was made begining of May, over 3 months ago and I have had nothing since!!

The SRA wont even give me an update on what is going on with my complaint.

I am not impressed to say the least.
