Hello Forum,
I have an issue with an online poker site.
When I first started playing on the site they prevented me from depositing over a given amount. (£1000 in 24 hours). They sent me an e-mail saying the following when I attempted to deposit over this amount:
'Thank you for your recent deposit request with credit card . Unfortunately, your deposit had been declined due to your account's current deposit limit settings.
Deposit limits are card type specific, so you can try depositing a lower amount, using another credit card or any other payment method available in the cashier.
To increase your deposit limit, please send us front and back copies of your ID and all the credit cards registered in your xxxxxxxx account to'
I started playing on the site about a month after this message was given feeling safe in the knowledge that I wouldn't be able to deposit more than £1000 in a 24 hour period as I had not sent any copies of my ID or credit card. However on this occasion I got carried away and ended up depositing and losing around £6500. I am now in an argument with the site as they have contradicted what they said in their e-mail by allowing me to deposit over £1000 in a 24 hour period.
Does anyone have any advice how to pursue this legally and have the £5500 refunded?
Thanks,
