  • Data Protection Advice

Hi - I work for a Financial Services Company based in Bermuda. We are contracting with a UK firm to host some of our customer data to provide a Financial Statement of their entire portfolio.
We are getting conflicting information about what our obligations are under UK data protection legislation - from us having to register and find a local 'Data Controller' to the fact that we are exempt and the local company is the only one who has to ensure they are registered.
This is non transactional data - it is a view only portal to our client information.
    Any help gratefully received.
    Regards,
    Colin.

UK data protection laws are overseen and enforced by ICO (Office of the Information Commissioner). Contact them directly.

Thanks I have already done so - 2 weeks and several chases later I am still awaiting a response - that's why I am trying other avenues to gain an answer.
