    Re: Inheritance dispute

    Sounds dodgy doesn't it?

You could ask your brothers - if necessary to sign Stat. Decs. - what they have had and what they have repaid and to provide evidence (proof) eg your father's bank statements'/their bank statements. If they are being truthful they won't object; if they get arsey, however, if it were me, I would smell a rat and seek serious legal help.

      I'm frankly smelling a rat.

Put simply, i'd be requiring proof that they paid the money back. If your father was repaid some kind of money, he presumably didn't leave it lying around the house, so the only logical explanation is that the money was repaid into an account of his.

If that excuse is used there is a mechanism i'm sure to investigate if that is the case, if not, simply going through your fathers paperwork of Bank statements and building society statements should be enough.

Either way, regardless of him being executor or not, there is a conflict of interest, and it would not be prudent to ignore it.

Money is the route of ALL evil, especially when it comes to families - trust me I know, I have had enough personal experience of it!

          Sorry not much practical advice
