  • Party Wall responsibilities

Hope someone may be able to help. I am a bit confused about The Party Wall Act.
Having read it I have to admit I do not quite undestand it.
My garden backs onto a wooden fence which separates their large
car park from my garden. however this car park and wall are bing used for vandalism
and theft from garden. Does this mean the company is responsible to ensure safety
etc,and does this Act cover it??
    Any advice appreciated.

What is the difference between a wooden wall and a fence?

In effect The Party Wall Act protects the structure of the 'wall' (which can be a fence or a hedge) not any of the shenanigans going on either side of it.

I was when I asked the question.

I still like the idea of smearing chip fat over the fence or attaching wires for an electric cattle fence to the top, as those are both passive deterrents.

Rat traps fastened near the top of the fence would rap the knuckles of the oiks, but would need to be re-set every time.

If they do anything that could harm the little gits they would no doubt be in more trouble than the brats

So you think it would be unwise to dig a moat and stock it with ravenous piranha?

do you want the piranhas to eat diseased meat?

Quite - it would be unkind to the fish.

How about a wide, water filled ditch and signs saying, "Please do not feed the piranha."?

If one doesn't actually stock the moat with piranha, it hardly matters that fish are illiterate regardless of whether they've been schooled.
