  • Parking Eye

I have just received a parking charge notice for £100 pound for being in car park run by firm parking eye for 29 minutes. I paid at the machine £3.50 for 3 hours but made an error by when entering my reg I only entered the number not the whole reg. While waiting for my friends to arrive I read the signage correctly and realised my error, so got back out of the car and was willing to pay again correctly however the machine wouldn't accept the money and kept spitting it out. therefore I left the car park and parked elsewhere.... do I have grounds for an appeal with me actually paying for a ticket?

    Re: Parking Eye

    Yes.

Appeal with proof of purchase if possible (only a copy mind, keep the original !)

    Dear Sirs,

I, as registered keeper wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The registered keeper paid for parking but mistyped the registration number. I also believe the charge is penal and does not represent a genuine pre estimate of loss.

    Yours etc

This is one of the very few times that parking eye might actually uphold an appeal. If not popla is our friend.
