thanks for all your info. i have visited the store who are waiting for confirmation from the police and will then refund me- however im looking forward to them refusing and will then take out a summons out for the cost of the instrument and the subsequent repairs i made also the costs of travel and returning to the shop etc etc- pointing out to the courts that they are selling stolen goods (with crime report no.s etc) and not carrying out the relevant checks as requested by the authorities .ALSO FOR GOOD MEASURE MENTIONING THAT THE ITEM IN QUESTION may have gone through an internal " laundering' scheme between branches. as CCTV MAY show the item was not sold to the branch purchased but moved around from branch to branch untill safer to sell.i will keep u posted.

I'd prefer not to describe it in much detail. Just suffice it to say that one could probably not put a dining table underneath...
And, no, I do not know why he did it. Perhaps he wanted to win a Darwin Award whilst still alive?

Dear old DaddyInca being a copper always told us to photograph jewellery,keep serial numbers of stuff etc.
My sister got burgled...and the bobby was quite impressed........he was even more impressed when a woman got arrested and he recognised my sisters necklace ( it's unusual,,only 5 exist,Mum and us 4 girls have them,Dad had them made).....now that's what you call CASE CLOSED lol
