Help. Legal Options to Challenge Trading Standards?

Our local trading standards department ended a 2 year investigation into food practices at our hospital (who nearly killed my wife with food she's allergic too) by offering them a simple caution to sign instead of prosecuting them publicly. They ignored our reasons for it being in the public interest to raise awareness about the dangers that still haven't been fixed and have clearly treated the NHS differently than a local restaurant who you know they would take to court immediately. They also limited the evidence they considered to just one day and ignored repeated examples of danger and errors then said there weren't any other issues. We hoped that a public prosecution would actually mean the hospital made good on the false promises they've made and would learn a lesson, instead it's been buried in council records where no-one will ever know about it. Is there any legal option we have to change this?

You could try using your local council's complaints procedure, and after that escalating to the local government Ombudsman.

If you have lots of money and no better use for it, consult a lawyer about a judicial review of the Trading Standards decision.
