After receiving emails from a solicitor which have a footer, but no file reference number, I asked for the the reference number, but I have been informed by the firm that no file has been set up. I am rather confused by this. Can anyone advise on whether this is acceptable?

I have made a claim that a probate was not dealt with correctly - one of the properties in the estate has gone to the wrong beneficiary. The solicitor (who is a close friend of his client) has sent me emails stating that I have no basis to the claim I have made against his client.Comment
