  • Complaint about the behaviour and professional conduct of RICS DipAdj ...

    Hi there,

I apologise if this is in the wrong place.

Please can anyone tell me who I can complain to about the work of an individual who is a RICS Dip Adj

I have had a Chartered Surveyor do some work for me which has been a total disaster, he has not only undertaken work on my house with a scheme which has failed, and he has now walked off the job and left me with a house which is basically falling down and knocked thousands off the value, he now doesn`t want to know! Added to which he is trying to claim an extortionate amount of money from me for devising the scheme.

    Many thanks in anticipation.

is the surveyor part of a partnership or a sole trader? if part of a larger firm then make the first complaint to the firm they work for, if a sole trader then write to them and complain to them directly outlining what you consider to be the problem and what resolution you want . There is a formal dispute resolution process with RICS. https://www.rics.org/regulation/reporting-concerns. which would be your port of call .

      Hi seduraed

      Thank you for your reply.

He is a sole trader. I have written to him and he is just arguing so I think I will have to take it to dispute resolution with RICS. I will keep you posted.

      Thank you again.
