  • Property joint owner untraceable

What happens if property joint owner A wants to buy the other half of jointly owned property from owner B, but owner B is untraceable in another country ?

What happens if this case goes to court for resolution?

Owner A has a problem. My guess - just a guess - is that it is going to be difficult to get a court to make an order of the kind you would like.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

Interesting. So I'm guessing that the court needs to be able to get in touch with Owner B as well, in order to proceed?

That person's interests need to be considered and taken into account.
