  • Contracts - Will Ink Stamping Them Effect Their Authenticity

Hi All. Odd question coming but I thought I'd check. I have a number of music contracts that pertain to my grandfather and I am due to send them to his old manager for review to see if they can be renegotiated (most of his copies were lost in a fire years ago). I'd like to add something to them to identify them as part of my grandfathers estate (of which I am executor) and I was thinking an ink stamp identifying them as property of the estate (with a date and my initials). My question is would this cause any issues in terms of their authenticity etc? I'm not making any changes other than stamping them.

If I understand correctly, you plan on sending the original contracts to the old manager? That's a bit dangerous isn't it, and why wouldn't you send a copy and keep the original?
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

Can you get a certified copy - copy them and take originals and copies to a solicitor who verifies they are accurate copies. Hang onto the originals and send the authenticated copies

        What Rob said ^^^^^^

How do you intend to renegotiate the contracts? Are you talking about royalty payments due to the estate?
