  • Arson and criminal damage

When I was younger about 15 in England me and some friends found a barn that was hardly used and empty. We got inside by taking wood planks off the wall. It was just playful at this point. Then some time later I felt childish and saw an open can of paint on the floor and in a silly motion swung and poured the paint so it went over an upright door. The door was not used and was in the middle of the barn. My friend was 2 meters away and set the door alight with a lighter. Because of the paint the flames were really high and we had to run out ( I tried and wanted it to go out). The fire brigade were called and the barn burned down and was put out. A police investigation was launched that found we were playing about the barn and they questioned me but I was too scared to give information because I thought he would get in trouble. And I was just really young. I didn’t expect the paint to be set alight. What would have happened if I toils the police and what would I do now. Would myself or my friend have got into trouble? Thanks

May be your parents would have to pay compensation for the accident, and you would be given a light warning
