  • J.A. PYE OXFORD LTD v. the UK, ECHR, 2007

In the context of a case study on the decision mentioned, I would like to determine what the scope and weight of this decision was in English law and the risks of the proceedings before the ECHR? Is it possible that English law would have had to be changed, as well as the law of European countries with similar procedures, if the Court had found a violation of Protocol 1?

    Student question?

I can think of at least one Act of Parliament passed as a direct consequence of the Pye case.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
