Hi all,
This is a case of 'a good turn never goes unpunished'. About 5 years ago, a friends mum died and the owners daughter being in New Zealand asked me to help out with the house. I organized the removal of hundreds of items from the flat, most of it going to the tip or to charity. The daughter then asked me to look after 4 very big heavy boxes of the stuff she wanted to keep, which she had sorted through at the time of the funeral, which I duly did. After I while I offered to send the items in the post to her piecemeal as they were getting in my way, I offered several times. She either didn't reply or said no. I moved them to a garage I had rented, and over the years, I had forgotten about them. Most of the stuff had over the years gone quite mouldy, and I had given up on them ever being picked up and due to the fact that this person stopped answering my messages, so I got rid of the lot. (nothing of value was in them) Out of the blue she asked if she could pick them up, as she is coming over. I know she will get very litigious over this as her friends have said her mental condition has got worse over the years. Does anyone have any advice? I'm worried sick she will sue me. She is the type to phone over and over again in the space of a few minutes and keep phoning all day every day.
