I have been issued with a civil recovery letter by RLP for shoplifting at a supermarket for just under £2000 . I don't know what to do

Is that amount correct £2000 (two thousand pounds)?
What on earth were you trying to walk out with?

Assuming it was £20, just ignore RLP.
They'll send you a few threatening letters and then give up as they have no enforceable claim.
