I have gotten into a terribly disgusting habit of stealing items from various different stores in my local area, I live in central London and came across some financial difficulties and started to steal things that I thought I could get away with. At first it was easy I was able to get away with taking small items like lipstick or forgetting to pay for some of my groceries… I knew what I was doing was wrong but I could not stop and I feel terribly bad about myself. Recently though I haven’t been able to get away with it as easily, somebody saw me at Marks & Spencer is attempting to take pasta I was able to get away with this. The loss prevention officer did see my face though. Last week I was in TK Max and took two items and paid for another. I was not seen by anybody, but I went back to return the larger electrical item. While I was making my refund, there was a large commotion in the store and I suddenly saw lots of police and security guards running around I became extremely frightened and thought that they were there to catch me. I realise that there was another woman that they were possibly apprehending or she had been involved in an incident. actually I was very panicked the whole time, and at one point the loss prevention officer and security guard looked my way and I became paranoid and when the police arrived the security guard and police officer did come and stand near the checkout where I was processing my refund and did look at the. Does this mean that they are running an investigation on me? Processing my refund, as usual I was asked for my address I gave my parents address because I was really scared. I’m terrified that they are running an investigation on me and that I might be caught later I have zero intention of continuing this I have told my partner so that he can help me because I do not want to continue this horrible habit and I want to be able to live my life freely and in peace because this is ruining my life. Please can you advise accordingly what should I do what can I expect to happen will the police come to my door? If I go back to the store, I hundred percent intend to pay for all of my items I don’t want to steal ever again, but will the loss prevention offices take me and hand me over to the police? I have never committed any other offence in my life before and I have never had to give my details at the police station either.

I would like to add, what I am really afraid of is that they have already been keeping eyes on me and now they are putting together an investigation I’m worried that maybe they have seen me many times before do these small things and have a collection of records of me doing this and I waiting to deliver it to me in a court summons I have no idea what will happen please help
