Passport Application

An Englishman (he was born in England, as were his 16 great-great-grandparents) is trying to get a replacement passport as his previous one was lost, he reported it and it was cancelled. He doesn't know anyone on the accepted list of occupations that could countersign his photo and application; nor does he know any ‘person of good standing in their community’ due to him being rather reclusive.

What can he do?

Local councillor? Company Director? Magistrate? Does he work? - someone from the company could help perhaps. He will have to find someone - as far as I understand there is no alternative route though if there is someone here will certainly know!

The list is not an exhaustive list, so as long as it's someone with 'good standing', then that should be fine.

Exactly. I had read your comment "He doesn't know anyone on the accepted list of occupations" and the point is, as Echat says, he does not need to. Even a self employed person has "customers" and contacts.

What is the definition of "good standing"? Could it be anyone who has known him for two years and does not have a criminal record?

Local civic area solicitor can on specific cases with evidence I did and he told local solicitors meeting to do their he work. He then signed of immigration paperwork with local civic stamp's no arguments just prove evidencee
