Please could I get some clarification?
I have recently applied to a professional body for membership. Rules state that you must have no outstanding monetary orders.
In 2017 I had a DRO discharged, which contained CCJ’s. Since the discharge I have built myself, my life and my financial common sense back up, but the CCJ’s show as active on my file.
The data protection act states that information recorded against some must be accurate. Technically the active status for the CCJ’s on my file is not accurate as they are no longer owed. This is hampering my application which then hampers my living. I have pointed out that I have proof of the CCJ’s being written off on the DRO, but im
told that the CCJ’s status should have been changed.
Please could someone clarify if there is a process to have the status amended so that my file is accurate?
