Not sure if I’m writing this in the right place so apologies if this is wrong.
A solicitor who isn’t acting on my behalf but the behalf of someone I met and went on a few dates with has contacted my priest in order to get information about myself as the solicitor did not get any information from me. Personally, I feel quite threatened by this and I feel as though it’s not professional for a solicitor to do. Surely I have a right to privacy? I have written a letter to the firm to complain but apparently because they aren’t acting on my behalf, then I cannot complain - they’ve said I do not have any grounds to complain. They’ve also said that they find her behaviour completely acceptable and that because her client hasn’t complained about the service, then I can’t complain. Can anyone offer any insight on this? I’m now feeling as though I can’t go to church because this client of hers has been interviewed for harassment and he keeps turning up at my door but the police won’t do anything other than log it.*
Apologies again if I’ve posted this in the wrong place.
