  • Legal place of residense

In the UK what constitutes you place of residense. I have assumed this to be my own home, where I pay council tax, where all my correspondence goes to, where I am registered to vote. the place that HMRC have on file for me.
Due to a question my son raised as he is away at University I expanded the question to my GP's surgery to include if I was working away from home 4 nights a week. They said that meant I would have to register elsewhere as I was only at home 3 nights a week. However the other 4 nights would vary from location to location and hotel to hotel. How could my place or residense be any one from a list of hotels that changes on a weekly basis.
So legally where do I reside?
