My mother, a few years ago just after she turned 55, took out £150K in Equity Release, as a way of avoiding inheritance tax.
My mother passed away in July this year after complications after heart surgery.
The debt currently stand now at £380K.
Now she has passed away, is the Equity Release now frozen so it doesnt acrue any more interest?
My brother who is Executor of her estate cannot see her financial advisor until the 20th as he is away on holiday.
We are concerned and not sure how this works.
