The petrol station of my local supermarket (Sainsburys) offers free disposable polythene gloves at the petrol pumps to motorists to wear when filling their cars with petrol. The gloves constantly blow away in the wind and litter the road downwind of the petrol station. This has been continuing for at least two years. The supermarket will not pick up their litter. I described this to the local council who then met with the supermarket manager but the problem continues. I have searched online but cannot find anything useful about the legality of businesses littering public roads. Is the supermarket above the law? How can I stop their constant littering?
Can big business be made to clean up its litter?
