Hi all,
I have just come across another seriously unethical and dishonest bunch (they seem to be all over the place!).
I was told by a certain individual that he could not assist with my case. I then asked why and did not get a response.I suspect this was because I raised a complaint about him previously.
I then raised a complaint and was told that the individual in question was not taking on any more cases, as he was retiring.
Around a week or so later, I sent the firm a request for assistance and asked if they had the capacity to help using a different name and e-mail address to my own. I then got a response from the person alluded to above who said he was happy to take on the case depending on the merits. Unbelievable!
I understand solicitors have a duty to be "trusted to the ends of the earth" (see Bolton v Law Society [1993] EWCA Civ 32). I now trust them as far as I can pee in the middle of a hurricane!
I have taken the matter up with both the Ombudsman and the SRA.
