Need for annual statement especially a defaulted account and small payments

How critical is it if the credit card company etc fail to issue Annual Statements for many a year when you are making small payments?> and their chance of court case against a defendant> nobody seems to be able to answer so far??

I thought only active users of credit cards received annual statements.
Might be wrong (often are!)

I believe, but stand to be corrected this the lack of statements and notice of sums in arrears make the agreement unenforceable while they continue. It is easy enough for them to remedy though, I received 6 envelopes with 6 years of these notices for a large debt some months ago, not heard anything since.

Having said that, I would not be able to argue the point in court
