Re: Homeless due to Poor Credit & Low Earnings
OMG you poor thing xxx
Whereabouts are you? Big city, tiny village??
A house share could work well in your situation? Small/free ads in Loot etc
If you're anywhere near Brighton you'd find LOADS of such opportunities!!
Flat/House shares (where you have your own room) and share bills, do not usually have credit checks or huge deposits needed."Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Re: Homeless due to Poor Credit & Low Earnings
Goodness, no, you don't want to be house sharing at 45, especially with militant furry cat owning vegans.....do they let the cat eat meat?
I was homeless at 20, sofa surfed for over a year....it was horrendous. But by comparison, easy, because I was young, stupid and had no disability.
Being homeless is expensive too.....you can't plan anything properly. I got out of the trap by flat sharing with 2 Serbian girls....who were brilliant and helped me get back on my feet.
The only way I know you can jump up the list is by being 'genuinely' homeless. (on streets) But even then, hostels and BB would probably be all on offer.
I wish I knew the answer, I wish you loads of luck getting through this x"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. Re: Homeless due to Poor Credit & Low Earnings
Like Celestine sadly I don't have any answers. My only thought is that if you were willing to post up the rough area (even county) you live in, someone on here may read it and be able to help you. We did it recently with a lovely chinese girl who was turfed out of her accommodation (provided with the job) as she had pregnancy complications. We had her here for 6 months and its been rewarded today with my being best man at her wedding. We did it, so I'm sure there are others out there who would too.

Re: Homeless due to Poor Credit & Low Earnings
Caspar, hat tip for the generosity of yourself and your wife. I am well impressed.
I am sorry to sound off quite so much tonight, there are times when it all gets to me. I expect you all know how tough it can be when you're struggling financially.

Re: Homeless due to Poor Credit & Low Earnings
BTW single people without children or childless couples are never in 'priority need' for council housing EVEN IF SLEEPING ON THE STREET.
The obligation on local authorities under homeless legislation is to house those in 'priority need' and to merely advise those not in 'priority' need eg give them info about where rented accomodation is advertised.
This is why people sleep rough, no one has an obligation to house them if they are neither parents nor pensioners.
I will post a quote form Shelter in the morning.

Re: Homeless due to Poor Credit & Low Earnings
Hi SpringerSpaniel,
I'm so sorry you're going through what must be a very difficult period of your life and hope that the future will soon be brighter for you.
I don't know if you're aware but there is an organisation called Good4you that helps disabled homeless people. If you're not aware of it, just Google - Good4you - and I hope it will be of some benefit to you.
Take care x

Re: Homeless due to Poor Credit & Low Earnings
@Mrs James: I was interested to read of this organisation's work. However it is more campaigning, awareness raising and research than anything practical.
Some of the information on their site is at best misleading, and possibly incorrect, for example it is suggested that tenants will lose a council flat if they work, which is not the case.

given that i) the main stress point of living in somebody else's house is almost always kitchen arrangements; and ii) it stresses me out a lot not to have personal space;
I have come across people living in a static caravan or even a yurt exchanging practical help and their skills rather than paying rent.
I think this would suit me better now.

Re: Homeless due to Poor Credit & Low Earnings
Oh, what about maintenance I know a lot of apartment buildings etc look for superintendents (to let worker men in etc) and they give you free rent and a bit of a wage?
Sorry I don't know the UK term for Superintendents.
