  • Dvpo against male

Hi, my son had an incident with his girlfriend, she ended up with a severe black eye bruising on arms. He had restrained her as she was smashing his flat up and was drunk. She went to hospital on his advice 4 days later because her eye wasn't getting better. Obviously she lied and said she fell but the doctors saw through that and saw her other bruises. Consequently my son was arrested, had no solicitor and just told the truth. He was given a dvpo to not contact her. He did well for a few days but then she started messaging him and dispite me telling him to never message (he's on bail) he replied!! I am flabbergasted. Like why wouldn't he listen? What happens now? She wants to drop the case...

Well she can apply to the court for the discharge of the DVPO, but it sounds like that both may need to cool off and the DVPO is the best opportunity.
