Domestic: False accusation by husband. Wife taken to station

Hi all, Looking for guidance on what rights are there for the wife in this situation, please:

1. Husband calls police, accusing (falsely) wife of attacking him with a screw driver
2. Husband has previously been physically abusive to the wife (not reported to the police but wife has saved some bruising pictures)
3. Police take wife away (leaving 2 kids with husband)
4. Police claim they MUST take her away even though husband says he doesn't want her taken away because kids will not get on without her etc

What are the options from here? Deeply appreciate any guidance in advance. Thank you

If this is happening today, get a solicitor with her asap is the most important thing. If it happened any other time what is the status now?

Anyone taken into police custody is entitled to free legal representation. Always good to take up the offer, even if the person thinks they are innocent.
