I dropped my maiden name ( Smith for example) when I got married to my husband( Brown for example.)I took my husbands name and dropped my maiden name . I live in England. My father has died and my brother is now over 50 and doubt he will have children. There's no one to carry my family name on and I wish I had kept it in a double barrel surname ( smith- brown for example) Can I do this and change my legal documents, passport etc to reuse my maiden name. My children also would like to use my name as well as my husbands. How can we do this legally.
