Background - I went to final hearing for financial proceedings a couple of years ago, but had Legal Aid. I made applications for D50K (enforcement), D11 and Form A (varying maintenance and house sale terms) which court have now processed. I can't seem to get Legal Aid now due to no capacity with Legal Aid firms combined with international complexity of my case. I got an Order through the post which says, "And upon the court issuing standard directions in Form C including the listing of a First Appointment" "The applications shall all be listed for consideration at the First Appointment on the date notified in Form C" - but I haven't been sent a Form C so I'm a bit confused. I've been granted permission to serve the respondent via email, but I'm not sure I should now be sending this order and the D11 application (which the court sent a copy of back to me with the order), or whether I should wait until I've got the Form C as well as a date for the first hearing, as right now I have neither Form C nor a date. However the bottom of the order quotes FPC Part rule 18.11 Family Procedure Rules 2010 saying that, "(1) A person who was not served with a copy of the application notice before this order was made under may apply to have the order set aside or varied. (2) Any application to set aside or vary the order must be made within 7 days beginning with the date on which the order was served on the person making that application.I called the centralised court helpline and they were not able to clarify." I'm not completely clear what that means -- I did not send a copy of my court applications to the respondent, so I'm now really worried!

You should:
1. serve copies of your applications and this notice of hearing
2. Chase the court for this Form C, but I think this may be the notice listing the application for hearing.
3. If you are going to represent yourself in the Family Court, look at The Family Court without a lawyer - book and videos by Lucy Reed KC http://www.nofamilylawyer.co.uk/Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.
