Is this theft?

My marriage has broke down, after 41/2 years, we still live in the same house,as neither of us are prepared to leave, every time I go out she removes items that were mine before we met and were mine and my late wife's, when confronted she denies taking them, as this is theft,I know she is doing this to provoke me, is there anything I can legally do to recover the items as some are of highly sentimental value.

Possibly it is theft, but this would need to be proved. You may have difficulty getting the police interested in taking action.

The situation of you both continuing to live in the house seems the worst of all worlds and needs to be resolved. Who owns the property?

Thank you Atticus for your reply, the house was bought in joint names, it's a very complicated situation, if you check my previous post it explains in greater detail.

Have you thought about applying for a court order requiring the house to be sold, under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996? The court can rule on the respective shares in the equity.
