  • Ex threatening to take my children off me

My sister has an ex. He has been absent from the family home for two years. He has been in prison for threatening her with a knife, and later on, assault on another person. He is an alcoholic. He is violent when under the influence, which is now all the time. He was put on a condition of not being allowed to contact her directly or indirectly, but he continues to contact her directly and through his mother/sister. When he was out of prison early, for good behaviour, he threatened that he would take her children off her. He threatened the probation officer, under the influence, telling them that he was going to get the children. He was put back into prison for a further two weeks. He is now out again, and again is threatening to take the children and 'do her in.' It is probably the drink talking, but my sister is petrified that he can come and take the children. They have his name and he is on their birth certificates. She has an injunction against him, but apparently this only covers her, not the children and the police have said that should he take them they could not get them back. What are her options? Is there an option to revoke parental rights? He is an unfit father, he has been an alcoholic most of their little lives and didn't treat them right when he lived with them. Any advice would be appreciated, we are helping her to move house to try and help.
