Application to extend non mol/occupation order

Despite no breaches friends STBX has applied to extend non mol & occupation order. Malicious ex obtained Non mol without any evidence by unsubstantiated lies.Friend opposes her application and needs to know if he needs courts permission to submit documents in his defence

He may however be asking too much of the court. They want to hear only that he wants nothing more to do with her.

He doesn't want anything to do with her, however there are safeguarding concerns re their 2 young children who continue to live with her in the family home.Whilst ever the non mol & occupation order remain in place he is unable to protect them from being abused by their mother. SS have placed the children on a CIN plan.Wife has moved her new boyfriend into the family home and seems to be trying every trick in the book to make things as difficult as possible

Friend is opposing application to extend non mol/occupation order.there Is a CAO granting 50/50 shared care but this does not come fully into effect until he has his own accommodation. In the meantime his wife has a lives with order for the children BUT since the CAO was made his wife has been violent and abusive to the children resulting in SS being involved and Child in Need plans. I'm looking for ideas on how he can proceed because even if he is successful in opposing the non mol/occupation order I imagine it wouldn't override the CAO. Would he need to apply for the CAO to be varied
