  • Clean break financial settlement

My wife and I are getting divorced and have received our NISI. Now for the clean break financial settlement. I have made an offer through mediation to my wife which she would be happy to accept but...... her solicitor tells her that the judge would reject it because it is not enough. Is there any way that I could pay her the agreed sum and get a clean break without involving the judge.

Do you not think that the Judge would have far more knowledge about such matters. He may know what is fair and what one party may be trying to avoid being fair. Has your wife received legal advise to protect her interests, just to be fair?
