Hi, I am splitting up with the mother of my children. We have been together for over 10 years and have two children. We are not married and her name is not named on the mortgage as she has never worked or contributed towards any of the bills. I am intending to give her money to get a new property, but I am inquiring about whether she legally is entitled to a proportion of the property? Also, we are going to split the child care 50/50, are either of us entitled to any child support payments?

Where children are involved it is important that both you and your partner are legally represented. Any order for the care of children should be made legally to protect their interest and protect the possibility of one, or both of you being killed. The need to have a 'water tight' arrangement is far better and done correctly should give you both peace of mind.
Do you have legal representation?
