    getting married > protecting the house

    Hi all.
    I have recently inherited my family home as my father passed away 2 years ago.
    I have an 80k mortgage to pay my sister her share.
    My current girlfriend, wants to get married... I am not against the idea.

    However my concern is if things go down the spout and we get divorced later down the line I end up having to split the family home.

    Can anyone advise if there is anything legal that can be put in place prior to getting married that outright protects my home from a divorce settlement?

    Celestine ULA You could enter into prenuptial agreement. This is a contract entered into before marriage, which sets out how each party’s assets will be divided in the event of a divorce.

      Though pre-nuptial agreements are not officially recognised in UK courts, they are deemed persuasive in disputes.

      However, if you have a long marriage, have children and build a successful career partly because your wife took on childcare duties, her long term interests would be protected in the event of a divorce. There is no guaranteed way to protect property, so choose well
      "Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar.
