  • Can a Financial Order be submitted without the use of a solicitor?

My mother and stepfather have amicably agreed their divorce and finances. The decree Nisi is agreed but before we make application for the decree absolute, I believe it is best to submit the financial order. Is there a template or ideal layout a court will be happy to accept if I put this together for them to be submitted with witnessed signatures?

    Hi,

To begin with your proceedings you should apply first for Form A (A notice of an application for a Financial order), here is the link:

    https://www.gov.uk/government/public...inancial-order

here is what you should do after:
Read it through to find out what information it asks for.
    Collect any information you need.
Answer all the questions that apply to you.
Fill in your contact details correctly.
    Sign and date the form.
Work out how many copies of Form A you need.
Make enough copies of Form A
Attach the correct court fee or completed form EX160 (An application for help with court fees).

Send your application and other documents together with the correct number of copies to the family court that deals with financial applications in your region.

There is more court provided information on this website:

    https://www.gov.uk/government/public...ial-order-d190

    Hope this helps.

In case I have missed anything here is a comprehensive guide for applying for a financial order without the help of a solicitor:
