Decree Nisi

Hi everyone. I received notification that my decree nisi has been granted but didn't get a hard copy of it (I applied for the divorce through the government website). Can you tell me if it's a formal document that gets sent out?

I ask because my soon to be ex has told me he can't get legal advice without a hard copy of it. Does this sound right?
