  • CSA/CSM - Completely unaware of case

    Hi,

I hope someone can steer me in the right direction.

I have an attachment to earnngs from the CSA/CSM which I became aware of when I received my pay this month. When checking with our accounts department, they gave me a copy of the attachment which has someone else's address on. This was the first time I was even aware of a CSA case being actively pursued - we have always had a family arrangement.

I have no idea where the address came from as I have never lived or been associated with that address and my ex partner knows my address.

Aside from the huge embarassment at work and the financial implications of a huge unexpected deduction, there is now someone in my local town that has been given all sorts of sensitive and extremely confidential information about my NI number, pay, emplaoyer, name, etc, etc.

Where do I stand legally on this?

Note - I am not looking for advice on CSA/CSM/Family matters - purely on the implaications of so much personal data being sent to a random person. I am genuinely anxious and the possible implications! How do I find out what has been sent? Are the CSA obligated to give me copies of whatever was sent out so I can see the scale of the data? How would I force them to do so?

Thanks in advance of any assistance.
