    US divorce before moving to UK

    To be concise: I am planning to move to the UK within next 9 months and start a small business. I am legally married to a citizen of UK(we got married in US 5 years ago), however we have been living separately for more than 2 years. Due to quarantine situation I reside in the US and started a diy divorce as I don't want my future business to become an aquired property. The question is that is my future ex- husband able to contest divorce from the US (which I am doing by myself) and would my divorce be legal on the territory of the UK? I just want to eliminate the possibility of my ex being a co-owner or any property division. Thank you!
