Asking on behalf of a friend.
My friend married was married for less than an month before his wife cut all contact with him. Stating she wanted a divorce. ( it has now been about 20 months since they were married.) He earns a good salary,but lives frugally and has invested well. Where as she chose to give up work soon after their short engagement. Stating she would start her own business. ( this never happened) he ultimately ended up being used as a cash cow. With her threatening to leave him if he did not stump up cash and let her run riot on his credit cards. ( he is religious and believes marriage is for life. So he gave into her every whim hoping she would be happy.)
Despite cutting all contact with him and the continued use his credit cards. When he cancelled the cards after 6 months. ( he had a mysterious break in and sentimental items were taken totalling around £20,000 (nothing else was touched). The police didnt want to pursue this. I think he had reservations as he thought it would make divorce proceedings worse.)
They have never lived together. He has his own properties (purchased before marriage). She has always maintained her own apartment in an upmarket area of London and party girl lifestyle. Stating she had 000's in savings. They are both young people and have no children. ( hard to produce them, if your wife never wanted to be intimate.) She continues to live this expensive party girl lifestyle whilst claiming poverty.
He wants to know, Is she really entitled to half of everything? Hes worried he may lose his home that is in his name. She never contributed a towards anything. And still refuses to communicate with him and has instructed her family not to communicate with him either. Where he was once quite close to them and assisted them with many things.
