  • Transfer of parties on mortgage

Hi - Could anyone please advise on a current situation my friend is experiencing.

Basically, her and the husband split up in 2011 - bought a house in 2007.

She has been paying the mortgage on her own since then - some 8 years - never defaulted etc.

The ex has been pushing for his name to be taken off as obviously wants to buy somewhere with the hussy he's with.

My friend has been in contact with him and he was all up for it.

She spoke to her mortgage company and they said on the affordability she needed x amount per month (due to him running up thousands on her credit cards!! - yes - she did refer the matter to police/credit card companies but they were extremely unhelpful - they said if she could not PROVE she was in bed when he ordered the goods they couldn't take it any further - as many couples were participating in 'scams' - jeez you couldn't make it up!!). So she got a 2nd job to meet this.

She has just set the ball rolling and received all the paperwork and he is now not answering her calls/texts etc - as she needs his address to forward the paperwork on.

Is there anything else she can do if he does not respond??

Thanks in advance for your replies.
