  • Financial disclosure ahead of an FDR

    Hello

My daughter was granted a court directions order that asked her ex husband to supply credit card statements from several companies dating back six years.

The ones she has received appear to be little more than summaries. They do not have detailed purchases, credits, debits, cash advances and balance transfers.

Does any one have any experience on obtaining or seeing historic credit card statements and have they shown detail ?

It is important for her to see what the credit cards were used for and the information supplied is of little use.

    Thank you for your time.

Hes in breach of the order, the court is referring to itemized statements not account summaries. Simply tell your daughter to advise the court that he is in breach of the order as all he has provided is account summaries that do not show what was purchased, amounts spent per purchase, account credits/debits or any historical account activities. Request that he be ordered by the court to provide full itemised account statements detailing all of the above for the last 6 year period.

Can i ask as to what the actual situation is? As i can not advise further without knowing the back ground story.

Many thanks for your reply and my thoughts exactly.

To elaborate on the situation, my daughter is going through a divorce and self representing unfortunately. It had nearly got to the financial dispute resolution (FDR) hearing. Both parties had to supply financial information and her ex husband was ordered to provide all credit card statements going back six years.

Not all of the statements have been provided so it looks like the hearing will be adjourned.

However the statements she has received do not provide full details. For instance one of the card statements shows for example a total of £5k of purchases in a year but no itemized breakdown of those purchases - which was the point in asking for the statements in the first place.

I wasn't entirely sure whether this was how a historic credit card statement would be provided but in this form they are useless to her. In a completely different scenario for instance where a PPI refund was sought I would have thought it would make a claim impossible to prove.
