  • Negligent Council...

    Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out to this community for some advice on a deeply distressing issue my family and I are currently facing. Recently, we discovered that the council made a significant error with my Mum's burial arrangements. Due to their mistake, my Mum had to be cremated so she could be buried with her sons. This was not in accordance with her wishes or our family's plans, and it has caused us a great deal of emotional distress and I do not sleep light because of this.

I am considering taking legal action against the council for their negligence and the emotional suffering it has caused. However, I'm unsure of my legal standing in this matter and would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance from those who may have had similar experiences or have knowledge in this area.

Specifically, I am looking to understand:
    1. What are the potential grounds for a legal claim in this situation?
    2. Are there any precedents or similar cases that could provide a roadmap for my legal action?
    3. What steps should I take to initiate the process?

Any insights or recommendations on how to proceed would be invaluable. Thank you in advance for your support and guidance during this difficult time.

    Best regards,

    Steve
