  • Can a third party write a will for ill person

    Hi
If someone has become disabled and can no longer use their hands and wants to write a will. If they dictate this to two witnesses will the will be valid

The witnesses stand to benefit nothing from the will but are lifelong friends of the will owner

    Thanks in advance

The situation you describe has massive scope for disaster - creating a will that is invalid or giving rise to bitter disputes.

This person should engage a solicitor to make sure that this is done properly, in a way that will be recognised by the Probate Registry when the time comes.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read this: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
