Power of attorney

My dad has dementia and my mum has lasting power of attorney for my dad.

She is worried in case something should happen to her ,so would like to name me as someone to take over as lasting power of attorney for my father if that something happened.

Does she have the legal authority to do that.

unfortunately power of attorney is not transferable, so no she does not have the authority to nominate you to take over
