POA (financial): legal position re access to housebound 85 year denied by landlord.

A vindictive landlord has today issued a letter banning a POA from entering a property where the 85 year old dementia sufferer (his mother subject of the POA) resides alleging his failure to cooperate with the landlord’’s plans to seek Housing benefit on her behalf and other grants. Is there a duty in UK law preventing thwarting of a POA from carrying out their duties?

So sorry that you're in this situation.
Is the donor ( the 85 yr old dementia sufferer) safe ie, dies the attorney provide care to meet the persons social care needs?
Is the LPA for finance and health?

In my opinion the LL cannot control access to the property if this is an AST. If it is a carehome then different rules may apply

If this is an AST then it is a tenancy, the essence of which is the right to control the occupation of the property. The landlord does not have that right.
