  • Care Order and Mental Health

    Hey all,

The Local Authority state that they are worried about my mental health and therefore I am not able to care for my son.

At the start of 2020 (as we entered lockdown) I was stopped from seeing my young child. Being forced to stay indoors (unless essential) and without my son, I suffered with low-mood and depression and as a result, I had thoughts of self harm... However, I sought advice from Samaritans and my Local GP.

I was prescribed medical and attended a primary care service in August 2020. In September the GP and Primary Care discharged me as they felt I was no longer suffering with any anxiety, depression etc.

I have been off medication since Sept 2020 and my life has improved with my current partner etc.

The Local Authority state they are concerned for my mental health and therefore unable to care for my son.

Is there anything I can legally do to show them that I do not suffer with Mental Health.

NB : They have been shown my medical records showing that I was discharged and now longer require any support.
